The
Suwaitieh strain in the old days was commonly found in North
Central Arabia. The strain has always been in Bahrain, but today
is represented by a grandson of one mare, Suwaitieh Kuwaitieh.
Suwaitieh was presented by to Shaikh Sulman (1895-1961) in late
1950, a mare of most peculiar pale golden chestnut colour. She
produced only two offspring, a colt that was sent to Kuwait and a
mare Suwaitieh Gumaashah 174, both by old Dahman Alawwal.
The mare produced one colt Suwaity 810, who is the only member of
this strain now in existence. |
